Appearance: CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies)

The opportunity to exhibit the UnlimitedHand at CEATEC, the annual gathering of advanced technologies held in Japan was granted to us. An article featured the UnlimitedHand and?the long “snake-like” queue that it has drawn.

The article is translated as follows:

This year, H2L ?inc. has exhibited a game-controller that takes in data generated by gestures and raw muscle movements while stimulating the human forearm with electrical currents. This device that forms a closed feedback loop between human and computer is named the 「UnlimitedHand」. ?A “snake-like”?queue was formed and reformed?by people eager to experience the device for themselves.

H2L inc. has previously developed the「PossessedHand」, a system that enabled a User to override the movements of their forearm by delivering currents to the human nervous system through 28 electrodes strategically placed around the forearm.

This time around they have taken it a step further into the domestic realm. Additional components have been added to the existing system to adapt it to a gaming context, secondly the structure’s complexity was reduced to a point where researchers alone will not be the only ones who can enjoy the unit. The team works to integrate the system into the activities of everyday events. Paving paths for a “practical virtual reality experience”.

The product exhibited this year was selected by the Silicon-Valley based event 「TechCrunch SF」wining by over 40% of the total votes. It was a rare sight for an Asia based venture to be selected in such events. With that said, it is a first for a Japanese based startup as well. ?Their Kickstarter campaign backing rates shuttled?as a result of this public appearance at a prestigious event within their field. Having launched a successful campaign, the team takes this chance to rally as much support as possible by setting stretched goals.
